I recently snagged this fabulous sweater skirt on clearance from Barneys (in store) - it was ridiculous clearance (like Forever 21 prices!). So of course, I had to wear it as soon as possible for girls' night out. Although I wanted to keep the look simple with a striped tee and neutral sandals, it definitely needed an edge that only a black leather motorcycle jacket can bring to an outfit. In my younger, yet still fashionable years I must say, I was hesitant to mix browns/tans with black. I'm not sure why I felt this way, even though I always knew I did not want to match my bag to my shoes (a fashion tip I had picked up reading a French style book). Fortunately, I've left that novice fashion girl behind and mix it up as much as possible. Were you hesitant to take fashion risks when you were younger?
